Oakland, Berkeley, Richmond, El Cerrito, Hayward, San Leandro, and many more towns in Contra Costa and Alameda counties are all included in this broad category. We are expanding the history we've developed intensively in the city of San Francisco to an extensive coverage of the East Bay's history where it impacts or dovetails with San Francisco's. In fact, as a broad region, the Bay Area is not easily separable into discrete municipal units, so FoundSF has already been presenting histories that escape the tidy boundary of San Francisco since its beginning. We plan to expand our "history from below" into the whole region in the coming years. Please contribute!
