Quarters 10 and Building 267 (garage) are examples of modern military, residential design employing characteristics of International Style architecture and the Bay Area Tradition, a local expression of the modern movement. Designed by an unknown designer in the Bureau of Yards and Docks (BuDocks) during a period of transition in a military, residential style, this house represents the drive for modern, attractive, and high-quality design. Quarters 10 retains high integrity and has undergone little change since its original construction but is falling into disrepair. Included in the Historic American Buildings Survey HABS CA-1793-M
